This part-time programme is primarily designed for teachers and colleagues working with the Ministry of Education of Singapore. It provides participants with an opportunity to explore the latest issues in education.
There are 19 areas of specialisation. Not all specialisations will be offered at any one time. Please see below for the specialisations offered at different intakes.
Please click here for details of each specialisation.The specialisations allow participants to choose the area that best fits with their interest as well as their career path, whether that path is towards the Master Teacher track, Specialist track or a general desire to update their knowledge and skills.
There are two options within this programme. Participants are required to either:
- Complete eight courses plus a dissertation (Dissertation option - Dissertation supervision is subject to the availability of supervisors) or
- Complete 10 courses (Coursework only option)
Those selecting the Coursework only option will take a special course titled ‘Critical Inquiry’, designed to act as a capstone experience for the programme as one of the 10 courses.
You do NOT have to make the decision when you apply. The decision on what option to select is made after completing six courses.
Entry Requirements
- A good Bachelor’s degree
- A teaching qualification such as a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
- At least one year of teaching experience or other relevant educational experience

Candidature
This programme is offered on a part-time basis. The minimum and maximum periods of candidature for part-time candidates are 24 months and 48 months respectively.
Intakes
There are two intakes a year - in January and July.
